NP Swearing In
written on Saturday, March 31, 2007 @ 12:37 PM ✈

OMG, I'm an official cadet today. Must remember to mark this special day Everything was so rushed. Jiajia didn't realise that it was 2.15pm and I kept waiting for her to pack her bag. Haha. I think she got a shock when she saw me all ready and waiting for her. Hee.

I was so excited and nervous. I mean, ma'ams said Nanyang always did well. I felt that when we did our NYNP cheer, we weren't as loud as all other ma'ams. We started cheering and singing on the bus. I was hoping the practice we did during lunch and recess would help us do well as a squad.

By the way, I never knew that we had the smallest squad. You see, Batch 38 ma'ams have only 12 members whereas we have 20. So comparing like that, I thought Batch 41 was huge. Who knew that Hwa Chong has like nearly 50 members?

The NCOs from SJI split all NP people to different groups, I was with Peiyin. Puay Ling was the only one who got assigned to a group all by herself, without a companion. We didn't get to do much drills actually, just falling in. There was the ice-breakers - Wacko. It was kind of boring as the boys just "played" and "called" each others' names most of the time.

We also got to cut a piece of paper so everyone from our group could fit in. However, the other group's paper broke, so we won automatically. Psst, sorry if you feel bored :( We also played Dog & Bone. The highest "point" of the day was there, guess what happened?

Peiyin was trying to tap one of the boys to stop him from getting the bone, when he kept moving back with the "bone" with his front facing the centre. Then she tapped...(I think somewhere near the chest) I don't know why, Clarissa, Joyce and I just burst out laughing. Hiaz, but my reaction was "slow". I was slow for half a second - eww, sounds weird. In Chinese, it's 慢半拍.

Time really passed quickly...we grabbed our refreshments and sat down. The ma'ams took a picture with us Oh and at one point of time, I felt stupid. Our Batch 38 ma'ams had to tell us the April Fool's Day - April 1 was our squad's birthday. You see, April = 4, 1 = 1. So 4 and 1 put together makes = Batch 41!

If it was like that, then we missed Batch 38, 39 and 40 ma'am's birthday.... So sad. A new Batch 41 forum is coming up, just have to let other squadmates know about it.....I can't wait~

March is ending!
written on Friday, March 30, 2007 @ 8:21 AM ✈

Can you believe it? March is ending so soon!

There are tons of school work and I practised the NPCC drills with my squadmates during lunchtime. At least we did much better than the previous meetings...We did drills for half an hour~ I am starting to feel that my blog is dying.gradually. I am so nervous. I mean, there is class breakfast tomorrow and I must go downstairs to get some fruits or fruit juice.

*itch* *itch*

I am feeling so itchy, I've got mosquito bites over me and they are so huge! It's Thursday and I get to go home early. I don't think I write as well as before. I used to have so many things to blog about, and now, it is so boring. Seriously, I feel like falling asleep reading my own entries.

Back to NPCC talk, hee. If you didn't know, I will be swearing in as a NPCC cadet officially! Oh, not that kind of swearing.
We are expected to pledge our loyalty to the unit and have to do our drills almost perfectly tomorrow. So let me see if I can recall everything...

I think I should be able to. Yup. I am just worried that we wouldn't do well. Maybe I'm a big worrier.

School starting :(
written on Saturday, March 17, 2007 @ 1:09 PM ✈

I don't want to go back to school. I am having so much fun during the holidays, mostly on the internet. I really hope something will happen. Maybe the school gate gets locked and we don't have to go to school? haha, what a fantasy. I really am lazy and I think I'll fail my storytelling SIA. I mean, I am very bad at doing speeches so I will probably freak out seeing everyone in front of me.

There is also geography and oh my, there is NP on Tuesday. How tiring, ma'ams will scold again. But that's when we do things wrongly....

I am working on a site and if everything goes well, I'll show it to you..

Just After Camp
written on Saturday, March 10, 2007 @ 2:18 AM ✈

Hey people...I just got back from camp. 3 Days of independence! I had to share toilets, bath with cold water, sleep on the floor. It was really different from living at home. On Day Zero, we won lots of prizes as we cheered a lot. We could go home on that day itself. I packed up and set out for school the following day. I had trouble carrying the luggage up the bus and my dad had to follow me up to put down the stuff.

Upon reaching the school, I struggled across the overhead bridge and up to the 4th level. I quickly left my belongings in class and picked out the items needed for the picnic at Pasir Ris Park. However, everyone brought everything down. In the end, after assembly, we were asked to bring everything up and just take along the items needed. We played lots of outdoor games and my class did very well for that day. If I didn't remember wrongly, we won 2nd for the activites and 1st for the crafting activity.

And very soon, at 1pm, it was time for lunch. There were lots of food brought by everyone. I had a filling lunch after all! Just after a long time of cleaning, we could go back to school for Talentime practice. The journey was very long, I fell asleep during that time. Then there was showering with cold water in 5 minutes or less, PCCG lesson with the Chinese teacher. Is it Mrs Lee or Mdm Lee? hm...

Then dinner was chicken rice with some vegetables. Some people didn't finish everything, but I practically finished up every meal. We watched Over The Hedge and then got to sleep. The toilet was smelly when I went in to brush my teeth.

I woke up at 5 plus and headed to the quadrangle with my classmates after washing up. I forgot to say that I was assigned the toilet on the 3rd floor, which meant I had to go down one level every time I needed the toilet. After that was breakfast. I was looking out for my father and checking my handphone every now and then. At last I saw him near the piano, so I went to greet him. I gave him my curry puff as I was too full to eat anything else. Then we got up to class and I packed all the items needed for the outdoor activities. For the SEAL Sports programme, I was in group 3. We got started with the Amazing Race, where I had to run around and carry out tasks. There was the water sports, with the hiking following next.

Like the day before, we went back to school and had dinner. It was fish and toufu with rice. Shortly after that, I watched the people perform during talentime. Every performance was short and interesting. I loved the fact that it wasn't boring. I was so engrossed that I didn't know 102 was up next. I got a shock

After the performance, we sang and cheered so much. And by that time, I was sweating. The night ended with supper.

This morning, I woke up at about 5.45am. We did Nanzhongquan this morning. The seniors knew the other half of the steps while we just stood and watched when we didn't know the other part. Today's breakfast was given out earlier and there wasn't much delaying. I only managed to play one game for telematch, which is the Land Mine. I must admit that my memory is bad. Haha. And all the NPCC squad mates gathered at the field to clear the campfire waste. I pushed the bricks down the carpark and got my whole arm black. Yuck. And when I finished, I rushed up to class to pack my slippers and some other items outside. Still, people had already shifted the tables and they were sitted in their Term 2 position already. So far, I haven't realised anything missing.

There was the prize giving ceremony shortly and I went home at about 1pm.

My father brought me to a shopping centre near my school at a Taiwanese restaurant. We both ordered Chicken Rice, Soya Bean Drink and a plate of dumplings. Coincidentally, an English woman stepped in, but the lady couldn't speak English. And the guy at the counter had to speak. The conversation was pretty weird, in terms of accent. Ooh, when the bill came for us, it costed almost 20 dollars. I fainted. >>nearly.

Now I am just beat and falling asleep any minute. I think I finished this entry already, have I?
~Going to doze soon

Camping tomorrow!
written on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 @ 11:10 AM ✈

:( It is camp tomorrow. I haven't packed my bag at all. And it is ACT day today. The whole day was a leadership programme. We had to run around the school to complete tasks. We didn't win anything at all.

Oh, I must remember to bring the drinks to school tomorrow for the picnic lunch. I wonder what it would be like to camp in school. I don't really like the idea of bathing in 5 minutes. I will be dirty. Also, I really feel sleepy, I don't think I can keep up with the activities.

So you see, my entry is short. I hope everything goes well and I will remember to bring everything that I need. I really hate forgetting to bring something. It is so bad. Anyway, I will have to pack my stuff soon. Will be back during the weekends!
