recent update :
operation opulence/open house

omg the whole busy week with so many stuff is finally over! i feel good about it, but miss it still.

22 may 2009 - let's talk about operation opulence and open house. omg omg lol. okay we left class early to prep, speaking of which, i have to do my chinese zuo wen. changed into pt kit and then everyone was like in an okay mood before falling in. when i first got the allocation to tampines sec the day before, i already had a gut feeling that something may go wrong, it's like i tried to think positive but it just didn't work. (and some other stuff, when i have gut feelings, they are so scary, but i usually trust that kind of feeling though. unless it's only a mere feeling lah) so we fell in and then split to side gate and main gate. first school that came in from side gate was sji i think. haha then we called pei ting over.

there was wenxian, jiajia, clarissa, jacinta, glenda, peiyin...i remember yijia ended up on the other side, can't remember if she was at side. then suddenly schools from 2:15pm yi ge yi ge lai, then squadmates yi ge yi ge zou, after random talking, only left clarissa, jacinta and i. clarissa ran over to the other side coz yijia was the last on the other side and had to leave with her sch, so 3 of us split to two sides. of course, we were constantly calling and smsing each other to check if we are still there or need to shift over or something and also to feel reassured haha. we waited until like 3pm when we decided to call ma'ams at COMCEN and ma'ams told us to go back. well, tampines sec was said to have called and say they werent coming and clarissa's and jacinta's sch probably not coming too.

schools that played were - ri, hci, acsb, sji, vs, tanglin, bp, bowen, zheng hua, if i'm not wrong. so ma'ams gave us the option of helping the stations or joining another sch as co ic or playing as a team. haha but i think ma'ams really were joking about forming the team and then somehow we ended up playing as a team lol! i was stuck between joining a sqdm with their school and forming a team. we totally rock lol, we really played.

playing as the ny team was quite fun :) coz we were quite fast and high also. it seemed like we kinda complimented each other lah. i still can't believed i survived lol, even though i thought i would do fine as school ic supposedly. we cheered a few times and i think the team spirit was kinda there too. :D plus ma'ams also jiayou-ed us a lot. we were like running almost all of the time i think, at a speed neither very fast nor slow, pro leh. however, in the process of running, i saw like so many squadmates with their schools and i can see sometimes squadmates ended up chasing after the school and i felt a bit xin tong for squadmates and i was like omg jiayou jiayou sqdms.

clarissa was like very pro at the pt station :DD and jacinta haha the light skipper lol. i think i'm like not of use lah, compared to sqdms. xD but i felt good that we could keep up with each other's speed :) visited the choochootrain the most times, twist your brain also. (my brain really twist liao lor, i kept thinking i don't want to twist anymore), but some super qian bian lol haha but some i know. went to cadet intelligence, have fun recre, see it/touch it, drill bang. wait, that's like all lah. nvm..

we earned quite a lot, played a bit of stocks also, but then we should have thought about stocks more haha. in the end, the winner was acsb, 2nd was victoria school, 3rd was hci. lol a bit unexpected. and ex ma'ams came back too. at the end we just sat around in circles and we went around to find squadmates. haha. last year it wasn't on a school day so we had games and lion dance performance. i felt that the prize presentation was a bit short after that haha, but then it wasn't too big a problem. i hope we will do well next year :DD lol i want a music station. and maybe try to become sch ic since i didn't exactly get the chance to this year.

also felt like dedicating thank yous to ex-ma'ams, ma'ams, 42, 43, participants, teachers, SQUADMATES too :D especially jacinta and clarissa who played with me lol and constantly keeping jiayous! there's also classmates who popped out of nowhere and shouting jiayous to me :) 306 ftw! something i realised - i think i did like 200-300 pumpings/crunches for the day eh. ran for like almost 1 hour + i ended up having some strained muscles, but it was a good feeling.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

23 may 2009 - omg another super busy day for me. firstly reached school at 6.10am, went to ngee ann poly, then went back to school at 1+, help with open house promotion, clear up, rush for swimming and get home. NO LUNCH AT ALL ): then i think during swimming, my leg was a little stiff at the left ankle so i didn't lock my ankle properly (the coach kept saying about that) and i felt my stomach growling too. ><><>.< but it's not that they did a super terrible job or anything! later, we packed up and cleared up.

then chionged all the way with yan ni to go for swimming lesson. got changed and swam 4 laps. the other time did 6 laps, but this week had napfa and oo, plus just came from open house so the coach let me do lesser lol. but i had some kind of stiff/cramped left ankle and didn't lock my ankle! the coach kept talking about it. and i have problems breathing normally in water. i go out of breath easily. i wanna get a badge lol. hope i can improve fast enough. i remember at the start the coach say i picked things up quite fast, but now...

bathed and took a bus to interchange, bought food and went home. omg, 7+ ate my dinner + lunch and now i'm feeling weird, coz yesterday i ate my dinner at 10pm. something is going to happen sooner or later.

HCI/NY CSM
written on Thursday, May 21, 2009 @ 8:47 AM ✈

Woke up a little later this morning. :P I thought I would be late. But yeah, was about 5 minutes late in meeting squadmates. Changed in the HCI one cubicle toilet with Lynn, Jacinta, Puay Ling, Pei Ting & Zi Han. Haha, we made too much noise, but it was like a fun combination! Jacinta is always doing things that make me laugh xD Like during Dalt Dinner! Met up with squadmates and we waited at the main gate for a super long time. Finally we walked to the SALT (?) centre and placed our bags before looking for Mdm Yeo. She split us up and brought us to the different parts of our duties for marshalling.

Puay Ling, Zi Han and I ended up getting the toilet place okay. There were like 6 of us in total, including the HCINP people. I can't believe why there were so many people, but I think they had a reshuffle. We went to see wu shi for a while also haha xD Anyway, that place's pretty horrible in the sense that you can smell the toilet. Plus, at the start, the boys toilet was not closed and then we tried to ask a few people to close but they couldn't close it. In the end, one councillor helped us close it after untying a knot that was with the door and the wall. I feel all grossed out thinking about it. Then the duty was better than last year because we were in groups this year. And I was talking to Puay Ling a lot because she was just across me. A lot of people tried to move past and then had to answer or tackle them in different ways. It wasn't too difficult though. PL was having a pretty hard time because people tried to slip past her from behind. For my side, Zi Han and a HCINP person stopped those who managed to sneak through me, so I think a few got through only.

After that, our shift was over so we were just walking around to rest a bit and stuff. Haha we saw Zhiyi ma'am a few times, and we were standing near the spectators stand and saw a few 39 ma'ams :DD But I think they were busy talking to Ms Khoo. Anyway, a teacher came to us and asked us to do crowd control at the track. I was like o.o because it's like we're off duty but we still have duty. We did for a while but then after that we went off to get water. Ohh I think squadmates who took over our shift were having a hard time, Jacinta looked so down! Eh... I'm not sure, but I think the actor in shu bao tai zhong studying in HCI was walking around and Zi Han was mentioning it. Quite cool lah.

We then went to look for squadmates at guard post after buying 20 drinks with the money Mdm Yeo gave us, however we were like asked to help with the crowd control. It was a bit scary because I was walking towards the guard post and suddenly saw so many people waiting there. Those people weren't really behind the barrier and many squadmates and HCINP people were trying to stop them. So we just helped lor. Mdm Yeo was telling us to "push" them behind the barrier. And those people were really desperate to leave the school or something.

I was a little pissed because it's like so many people came out even though the prize presentation was still going on. I wasn't too sure what I could do so I was a little raising my voice at the people who wouldn't move. And it slowly became really shouting, because not only were they not moving, some were even running past us. In order to get them back, the only way was to shout other than running after them. I think finally we managed to get them all behind the barrier. But anyway, this is kinda the first time I faced a situation like that. I was a little frightened actually shouting at people, but you know me. I won't show my emotions a lot :) this really made me well...大开眼界 to HC and NY people. Some of the people who wanted to leave were acting like they were rightfully being angry at us, which was like o.o, i really don't know what to say about them. I heard what they were saying/mouthing and I just got annoyed more. I think those people who left last were from NY, so it made me feel a bit better. I know we were like doing our best to block the people for as long as possible until everything was officially over, it was really good that the HCNP and squadmates were there. I think if all of us didn't help out, the situation might have become unimaginable.

I think squadmates stationed there were really pro lah, being able to hang on there for so long :) Haha but some squadmates still very wen rou. I remember last year Yee Lin ma'am popped up from behind me and it was quite amusing xD Ohh, I haven't shouted at anyone since a long time ago, I can't believe I did that actually. Bad that I did something I haven't done in years but good because very few people ran past us. And..mdm yeo say next year must do better...can't imagine doing it again.

We went back to school after changing and some squadmates went to buy food. Then 42 and 43 did rifle with squadmates and I was just doing souvenirs stuff. Maybe can ask ma'ams for help. Had macs and then it was quite nice, coz the rifle pracs got a lot better. Everyone improved quite an amount, but need to work on remembering/familiarising the steps. omg, we can do it!

Later on left Jacinta, Aircon, Yan Ni, Clarissa and I. We did souvenirs still and were just playing around. Haha, but at the end we got so high at the swing lol. Damn weird. I liked the feeling lol, of just laughing without thinking of anything else at that moment and suggesting lame stuff to do! xD We should go out and play as a squad.

Now i've things to do - souvenirs for Open House, gu/chem ecar, oo stuff, homework. Half of the week is gone le! I don't know whether to wish for time to go faster or slower. O: Hope that everything goes well this week! :D Jiayou squadmates too!

We rocked!

Current Music:Fei Lun Hai - Mo Mo & Yue Lai Yue Ai
Heheh everything was so cool and awesome on Friday :) The day we waited for.

I agree that I screwed up so many things and lost so much sleep because of the week, but the sense of achievement I got and the feeling of being zai and everything was enough to even the sadness I had. Talk about the bad stuff first. I slept for a total of 6 hours only for Thursday and Friday. (unexpectedly, just like clarissa). I thought I was worse than everyone else. Yan Ni said someone she knew slept 8 hours for a week. That's super scary. I couldn't help but doze off in class, and Friday was bad because I was doing it and I couldn't control myself. Had to do open house proposal and rifle drill pracs the past week, spa and homework. the proposal really took up a lot of time because it was rejected and rushed out 1-2 days before, even with sqdms helping.

Going to school early in the morning, I reached school the earliest with my sis lah. Waited outside the gate at about 6, then I saw Yan Ni come out of a taxi. Got in the school soonafter when gate opened. Tried to sleep more. Went to change when more sqms came. :) The mood was already beginning to make me feel that I should look forward to the parade :) Fell in and check u then went to get rifle.

39 ma'ams came back and I felt quite happy :D They were like telling us to jiayou and stuff and when 38 ma'ams came back I felt even happier lol! I mean, we totally didn't expect them to come back because they left np and are busy with stuff. :D Everything sort of gave me the inner strength to jiayou and do the best - sqdms looking forward to it and ma'ams coming back.

Time went by quite fast actually. We fell in at the GOH place and waited for people to come down from their classes when it was time for assembly. Even though we did julang for quite long, probably the longest time we had to do because we were holding as we waited for others, it was still fine :D It wasn't that bad. And we didn't screw up! Our marching was quite good and before npdp, Glenda was worried to have our squad's pics taken coz they might show us having bad drills, but most of the pics that I saw our drills were quite okay :) It's like GOOD JOB sqdms! :) 42 and 43 - good job too!

It was quite fun taking all those pictures after the parade haha, I don't know why! I still remember last year we had our 10 lian2 pai1! Took pics with some classmates too :) Luckily we had all the slack-ish lessons like SIL, LA lecture etc.

During lunch, we had major phototaking session xD And those sqdms who know what I was thinking, I was like trying to take pics with many many squadmates :D I didn't get to wan cheng xin yuan okay! We were like very high, and everything :) Took team 2 and alpha pictures too! Spastic shots hah. Was so scared my camera would die on me.

At the end of the day, rushed out work. And we had to rush home. During class, I was already telling Nicole that the maximum time I would have, is probably the time to get back home and just touch my front door and I would have to go off already. Still, I went home, placed down my stuff, bathed and changed then rushed out with my stuff. LOL I was eating yoghurt I took from home while waiting for bus because I was too hungry. Luckily it didn't interfere with the trip's time. Took bus, and then mrt, and expectedly I was late. Told squadmates my theory about going home and just touching the door. So the time I was late by, is the time I spent in the house. Right? It's just too bad I stay so far away!

Hey but I wasn't the latest! Squadmates got "pissed" waiting for Wen Xian lol. And when she appeared, everyone was amused because she was wearing skinny jeans and a small yellow shirt with slippers. Jacinta said it was unlike her. She had to change into shoes also before we met ma'ams. Dinner was great, there were SO MUCH FOOD! I liked sushi :) Sat near Puay Ling, Jacinta - haha can have team 2 table liao. And.... jacinta's super super amusing one okay! She ordered satay with the clip and then one guy served a HUGE-GIGANTIC piece of lamb chop. I was wondering, lamb chop? Who ordered lamb chop? Zi Han said she saw Jacinta order lamb chop. When Jacinta came back, she saw that we got our fish and she asked where's her satay. We were like saying, I thought you ordered lamb chop. Then she was a bit shocked and insisted she ordered satay. Then Zi Han told her she saw her ordering lamb chop lah. Jacinta started to doubt herself haha :D And she was so frightened because she said she couldn't finish lamb chop. Plus the funny incident that happened to Jacinta in the morning, I couldn't help but feel very amused by Jacinta. Every time I look at her I just want to laugh XD But don't get me wrong, Jacinta's a really nice person lol!

Okay okay. Squadmates and I were just moving from the table to table and I was just taking pictures. :) We just got higher and higher. Clarissa was having a Nong Ying discussion or something and lol we just entertained ourselves with plain talking. :D Oh oh and right, Jacinta kept taking and taking pudding, all sorts of pudding - from mango to lychee to strawberry. I went O.O when I saw her take 3 puddings at once already. Someone still said Jacinta yi bei zi never eat pudding before haha. Jacinta's addicted to pudding lol. I told her about wobbly legs like two times before she can control herself. She still asked if it's flabby legs or shaking legs. Aiyo.

Went to arcade with squadmates and we played lots of stuff :D Clarissa said she felt everything seemed unreal to her. Kinda true! :) The music and lighting and atmosphere. Pei Ting's super pro at the hand hand dance okay! :D She looked so guai haha, too good to be true. She told me that she used to play in primary school haha xD Aircon suspected she go arcade and tou1 tou1 lian4 :P It was so much fun really :) I played the basketball game with Zi Han, Clarissa. Wen Xian and Yan Ni also played :D Got into stage 2 only haha~ Ohh I also played the table thingy, what was it called. Clarissa and Peiting's side the table never ever go in one. LOL It was fun! That game I remember playing when I was like 6 or something then I never play alr. We watched sqdms dance :D is it called the parapara dance, oh and shooting game also. We stayed there until very late about 10 plus.

Decided that we should go home. And squadmates who left early were still there coz they lost their way. Clarissa went off with them and we thought she was going home with them and we left for the mrt. She popped back and we were shocked lol. But actually she just went to show them the way. Went on the train and it was so tiring. But talking with squadmates and everything was good :D Got home super late actually about 11 or 12. The only regret was not taking neoprints with sqdms lol!

Next time we should go arcade and play again :D I never played the dancing thing before or once long ago. And go kboxing :) The entire day rocked really! We were zai - from the photos :) Haha I just think I look odd in the pics! But everything that happened just made me love squadmates even more and like what we're doing more. :)

Wow. guess what.
I haven't been posting/blogging for about ..4 months?

Here, I've started a new blog at livejournal. Many things have happened or is happening this year. Start of sec 3, my birthday, blocks, np matters, classmates, chosen for Youth Olympics Games announcer (maybe), Class CIP, becoming CORPORALS, NPAP, Open House, Operation Opulence, ATC campfire and many more. I think this year is really tough. Still not getting used to it. In a new class, there are many new people I've gotten to know, totally diifferent personalities from people in 202'08. At the start of this year, I already had to plan and complete class CIP with my other activity coordinator Vivian. She's really good at these stuff :)

Schoolwork wise, the homework seems to be never ending. The teachers were saying how we were not saying the truth when we said homework comes all at the same time. True, it doesn't come all at once sometimes, but then they overlap so much. It's either homework or quizzes to prepare for. When you're not doing homework, you will always have something else.

I also lagged in homework sometimes due to NPAP trainings which ended on 18th April - day of actual parade. There was squadmates and ma'ams who went - Alicia, Clarissa, Yi Jia, Wenxian, Jing Hong ma'am and Hui Cong ma'am. It was really a great experience :D Never been in such a large scale parade before. It's also cool to learn flag drills before we begin to learn it in school. And of course, I shall not forget NPAP mass flag 2, all the people and Rahimi sir. He's a great CI! Learnt a lot from him and everyone else. To be honest, when NPAP ended, I felt rather empty and lost, a little similar to the time when CT08 ended. But I didn't feel that it was like CT because NPAP'09 ended on a rather happy note and there wasn't much regrets despite being a reserve. We ended it with a dinner with squadmates too. It all came to an end nicely yup.

Back to about school, I have a feeling that the teachers are beginning to be biased. I don't know, it's just that I might be thinking too much. Like sometimes when my papers clearly have the right answers but yet some can simply give me a big cross. Not that it's a big deal because I can always get the marks back of course. And it's not just me, just for some groups of people. Favouritism?

Nevermind, hmm, this year seems to be not good in the sense that I'm meeting more and more unkind and impolite people. Not that I love to remember bad things, I usually tend to forget about things people do to me but it's just super unbelievable. But I'm sure I wouldn't hold it against them. For example, I would nicely ask to move across the bus to get down asap and some people can just turn around and hit their elbow in my face without saying sorry, then while still standing at the same spot, blocking my way. Of course I had to push through and some people just stood there like a tree and broke my hanger with their big body because they wouldn't move. And, I can be just standing on the train balancing with both my legs. But some people who want to get off the train who don't have a mouth to say excuse me, would just push me with their hands. Not elbows or shoulders but their palms. In the same situation, some people can also grab my bag and pull for balance because the train jerked without saying sorry. wow. The thing is, things happen but why do people just behave like that? Shouldn't they apologise?

YOG - I remember going for the camp, was sitting with Sylvia and her friend Le Ting. Li Ting went too, she was like the first to volunteer to do the auditions :D It was terrifying actually. Initially, I only offered to do emcee-ing stuff when my LA teacher asked who was interested. I didn't think it would be related to YOG. Had to speak one minute without script, but we had preparation time though. And there was a camera rolling to record for the judging panel. 3 jobs: announcer, host and commentator. They were all different and I was interested in them all haha but I got selected as announcer. Just probably announcing names and doing intros for events, in the background? I'm not too sure as of yet. There will be intense trainings until next year, the YOG itself. They mentioned that some people might be removed, so I hope everything will go well. It will a great honour to do this, never thought I would get to do it. Haha I didn't even know how come I had the courage to volunteer for emcee-ing. There was something inside of me telling me to raise my hand and it's such a surprise to get something I've been wanting - to help in the YOG 2010. I've been interested about helping ever since Singapore got selected and Mr Teo Ser Luck mentioned about volunteers needed over the news. Note: it was only a thought, now I've the chance, I feel so odd all over.

About NP stuff. Well, NPAP ended already and now we have to plan for open house and await for OO. Learn rifle drills for npdp too! Rifle drills are really cool but but..the new rifles are round and fat. So they keep slipping and sliding in circles in my hands. I remember I couldn't grab the magazine for rusok because I missed the handle. I think I really need to improve because I think the previous time was only my second time doing rifle drills in ACT. And being souvenirs comm again for open house this year is nice :D surprisingly, i'm the exco of souvenirs. haha i jing1 yan4 more feng1 fu4 for souvenirs. Hope to try other stuff too. But I doubt I can make it for open house because of the chem ecar competition, thus my display name on msn lah. OO is held out of june hols this year, I'm not sure why, maybe because our holidays are packed fully. But it's a little tough for schools to finish school then rush to our school to experience OO. Afterall, it takes some time to complete. Luckily it's a Friday though, is it. Should be.

Talked about chem ecar just now. Oh I would have never thought we would get in for the chem ecar interal selection. REALLY. I mean we only rebuilt the structure one day before the judging and we weren't super sure of our test results. I mean we tested after rebuilding for about 10-20 times, but I was thinking so few times, definitely won't be enough. Results came out and there are 2 teams from 306 selected into the 5 teams!! :D HAHA. Jiajia's team also got in. Now we have to have trial runs every week until the competition itself. It's a good and bad thing. Good being that we have a chance of doing well for our SIA, bad being that we need to test it every week. But people say when life gives you lemons make lemonade out of them so I guess that's the xin1 tai4 I'll be treating the competition.

Ooh, I think our squad seemed to have grown over the past few months. From not knowing what UOPA is, to wanting to get gold and be GOH, to understanding each component for UOPA. Wow. And not only about UOPA, I think we are more mature I guess, because of all the plannings we have to do for Open House and campfire. It's really good. But I feel like I haven't changed much in the terms of becoming mature.. I might have been a serious person all along but now when I look at myself, I haven't grown better compared to squadmates. I want to become a better person too.

I've so many things that I want. Like doing well in my sciences and maths. And being decisive as before. Getting into NYCT'10, organise events, becoming GOH for NPAP next year and wear the GOH uniform one day, getting roles I want in NP and class, improving my drills. Actually NP motivates me a lot to do many things, it's a big part of my life now I see it. I also wanna learn new things like swimming properly, music and more. I loved the motivation from CT last time, it really helped me to push myself to do things I want. But I might need to prioritise everything first. Currently, I need to just get past blocks, finish all my homework and better my drills for npdp. *sighs* Oh, we need to polish rifles too! Then...well, I should do a good job for my IH assignment too.
