Long chocolate bars!
written on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 @ 12:39 PM ✈

Today was a hectic day, there was a Science quiz, an IT competition, the NPCC drill test and the total defence test. Seriously, this is a lot for me to take During NPCC, I was doing the Total Defence test. It is so hard, the questions at the back were like 30 marks! I was wiping my nose the whole time as my nose was runny.

After everything was over, well, not really, there was a tough parade test. We had to keep doing the basic drills for practice and we took the test at different times of the ACT. I was with Hui Han and I think I did really badly. Before I did the test, Sheila ma'am still had to call me out to redo some drills. And then she asked me a really unexpected question. I just answered the first thing went through my head.

Another thing I realise, ma'ams like to ask us to close our eyes. They always "surveyed" us after asking us to close our eyes. We were supposed to respond by raising our hands for different options. So today's survey was about getting in the parade. They asked who thought they could not make it. I raised my hand for that I really feel weird closing my eyes. At the end of the ACT, we were to assemble outside the NP room. Once again, our ma'ams got us to shut our eyes and they said to 举手. I put up my hand silly. Then I discovered that it was to put your hands in front of you, like taking something with 2 hands. I was so scared, more frightened than doing the drills again and again with Sheila ma'am. They said they would put something on our hands if we passed. Their tone sounded like only the best made it. I was already prepared not to get anything. I did so badly.

Surprisingly, ma'ams passed everyone! We will be getting to march on 27th of April and I bet we'll look cool. I wonder if we will get our uniforms by then.

I forgot to say. You might ask, what does this have to do with chocolate bars? Well, the prizes we received were long bars of milk chocolate. I've just eaten it, it's tasting good~

NYNP 41

Hey it's 1st of April today~ Batch 41's birthday

Happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to 41,
happy birthday to you!

I love Sundays, no school. But this weekend was rather busy for me. The swearing in ceremony on friday, SAP talk on Saturday (from 8am to 5pm) and today's trip to Luona's house for Maths. I guess it will be pretty much the same the next few days. I have to prepare for the Total Defence test which is on Tuesday. If I don't get it, I will drag everyone down with me. We are expected to pass as a squad and we can only retake it three times.

Oh yes, it has been some time since someone commented. Hiaz. I am always sighing everyday.

First Major CIP
written on Sunday, April 1, 2007 @ 11:29 AM ✈

Today is a Saturday and I had to go back to school, early in the morning - 7am.... And, the amazing thing was, the ma'ams were in school even earlier, in their uniform! I wonder when I will get my uniform will look so smart~
So all the fuss was for the interaction talk about the SAP schools. 李老师 assigned Luona and I to stick the papers for the seats in the auditorium. We were in the room cutting and pasting. After that, we rushed to paste the notes and ushered the teachers and students in. I also had to open the door for the guest of honour - Mr Gan Kim Yong. Lots of VIPs came to Nanyang too. During the break, I saw ma'ams ushering the cars. Hm, I hope I am not making a mistake when blogging.

I am so tired. Luona, Xinyi, Geraldine, Michelle, Jeslyn and I were swopping the "Reserved" signs around and we had to pull them out after the event. So when everything was settled, I packed my stuff and went to board the bus. But, the muddle-headed me forgot to bring my umbrella out and it was raining rather heavily. Anyway, I just told myself to call home upon reaching the MRT station or the bus-stop downstairs as those were the only places which were unsheltered.

Still, for the SECOND time in the year, I missed my stop again. I ended up dropping off at the MRT station, which wasn't a huge problem. I was still able to go home from there. I just can't believe that I could doze off like that. I must be super really lucky to be able to end up home. I mean, I could have just get lost and cry. I realised that I had four missed calls at the MRT station and I called my father. He offered to take me home from the station. Hiaz, he didn't look really happy.

Tomorrow, I still have to go out to my friend's house for a project. How busy I am

NP Swearing In
written on Saturday, March 31, 2007 @ 12:37 PM ✈

OMG, I'm an official cadet today. Must remember to mark this special day Everything was so rushed. Jiajia didn't realise that it was 2.15pm and I kept waiting for her to pack her bag. Haha. I think she got a shock when she saw me all ready and waiting for her. Hee.

I was so excited and nervous. I mean, ma'ams said Nanyang always did well. I felt that when we did our NYNP cheer, we weren't as loud as all other ma'ams. We started cheering and singing on the bus. I was hoping the practice we did during lunch and recess would help us do well as a squad.

By the way, I never knew that we had the smallest squad. You see, Batch 38 ma'ams have only 12 members whereas we have 20. So comparing like that, I thought Batch 41 was huge. Who knew that Hwa Chong has like nearly 50 members?

The NCOs from SJI split all NP people to different groups, I was with Peiyin. Puay Ling was the only one who got assigned to a group all by herself, without a companion. We didn't get to do much drills actually, just falling in. There was the ice-breakers - Wacko. It was kind of boring as the boys just "played" and "called" each others' names most of the time.

We also got to cut a piece of paper so everyone from our group could fit in. However, the other group's paper broke, so we won automatically. Psst, sorry if you feel bored :( We also played Dog & Bone. The highest "point" of the day was there, guess what happened?

Peiyin was trying to tap one of the boys to stop him from getting the bone, when he kept moving back with the "bone" with his front facing the centre. Then she tapped...(I think somewhere near the chest) I don't know why, Clarissa, Joyce and I just burst out laughing. Hiaz, but my reaction was "slow". I was slow for half a second - eww, sounds weird. In Chinese, it's 慢半拍.

Time really passed quickly...we grabbed our refreshments and sat down. The ma'ams took a picture with us Oh and at one point of time, I felt stupid. Our Batch 38 ma'ams had to tell us the April Fool's Day - April 1 was our squad's birthday. You see, April = 4, 1 = 1. So 4 and 1 put together makes = Batch 41!

If it was like that, then we missed Batch 38, 39 and 40 ma'am's birthday.... So sad. A new Batch 41 forum is coming up, just have to let other squadmates know about it.....I can't wait~

March is ending!
written on Friday, March 30, 2007 @ 8:21 AM ✈

Can you believe it? March is ending so soon!

There are tons of school work and I practised the NPCC drills with my squadmates during lunchtime. At least we did much better than the previous meetings...We did drills for half an hour~ I am starting to feel that my blog is dying.gradually. I am so nervous. I mean, there is class breakfast tomorrow and I must go downstairs to get some fruits or fruit juice.

*itch* *itch*

I am feeling so itchy, I've got mosquito bites over me and they are so huge! It's Thursday and I get to go home early. I don't think I write as well as before. I used to have so many things to blog about, and now, it is so boring. Seriously, I feel like falling asleep reading my own entries.

Back to NPCC talk, hee. If you didn't know, I will be swearing in as a NPCC cadet officially! Oh, not that kind of swearing.
We are expected to pledge our loyalty to the unit and have to do our drills almost perfectly tomorrow. So let me see if I can recall everything...

I think I should be able to. Yup. I am just worried that we wouldn't do well. Maybe I'm a big worrier.
